A Memorial Day Wreath Ceremony is a special event held on Memorial Day, May 29th at 9 am pst to honor and remember those who have died in service to their country. The ceremony typically involves the laying of a wreath at a memorial site, such as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier or a local veterans' cemetery. The wreath is a symbol of respect and remembrance, and the ceremony is a way to pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States that is observed on the last Monday of May. It is a day to remember those who have died in service to their country, and to honor their sacrifice. The holiday was originally called Decoration Day, and it was first observed in 1868 to honor the soldiers who had died in the Civil War. In 1971, Memorial Day was expanded to include all Americans who have died in service to their country, regardless of the war in which they fought.

Memorial Day Wreath Ceremonies are held all over the United States on Memorial Day. They are a way for communities to come together to remember and honor those who have died in service to their country. The ceremonies are often very moving, and they provide a way for people to express their gratitude to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Here are some examples of Memorial Day Wreath Ceremonies that are held each year:

  • The National Memorial Day Wreath-Laying Ceremony is held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. The ceremony is hosted by the President of the United States, and it is attended by members of Congress, military leaders, and veterans.
  • The Memorial Day Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is held at Arlington National Cemetery. The ceremony is hosted by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington, and it is attended by members of the military and veterans.
  • The Memorial Day Parade and Wreath Laying Ceremony is held in Chicago, Illinois. The parade is hosted by the City of Chicago, and it is attended by thousands of people. The wreath-laying ceremony is held at Daley Plaza, and it is attended by veterans, family members, and friends.

These are just a few examples of the many Memorial Day Wreath Ceremonies that are held each year. If you are looking for a way to honor those who have died in service to their country, I encourage you to find a ceremony in your community and participate.

Established into law by Congress in 2000, the National Moment of Remembrance is when Americans pause and observe a moment of silence at 3 pm on Memorial Day to honor those who have fallen while serving in the U.S. military.

As noted by the National Moment of Remembrance Act, “Congress called on the people of the United States, in a symbolic act of unity, to observe a National Moment of Remembrance to honor the men and women of the United States who died in the pursuit of freedom and peace.”

Wherever you are, be sure to take a pause to remember those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice while in uniform.

Thank you for participating.

Attention Veterans: Research Volunteers Needed to Help Defeat COVID-19

VA is recruiting volunteers for COVID-19 clinical trials at select VA facilities across the country. Your decision to join a study, or not, will in no way affect your VA benefits or health care. Anyone over the age of 18 can sign up to volunteer.

Above video: Dr. Anthony Fauci, VADM Jerome Adams, and Veterans Michele Jones and Dr. Adam Robinson speak about volunteering for VA Research on COVID-19.

Veterans are Warriors. You have a long history of fighting battles on foreign shores and defending national security. Also, you are often the first to come forward to protect your country, your communities and the people you love. OVID-19-Research-Volunteer

Your country needs your service again!

Facing the global enemy

We are facing a new global enemy. To date, over 13 million individuals in the U.S. have been infected with COVID-19. Of those, 225,000 people have died. For comparison, that is close to the number of people who live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

So what can you do to help fight COVID-19? That is, aside from wearing a mask, washing your hands and, when possible, keeping at least six feet away from people who are not in your immediate family? You can volunteer to test a new vaccine or treatment for COVID-19.

VA is part of Operation Warp Speed, a program of the U.S. government working to purchase enough COVID-19 vaccines to provide universal coverage for the United States.

We are asking Veterans, their family members, VA employees and others to volunteer to participate in VA’s COVID-19 research. By signing up, you are under no obligation to participate in a study.

If you are a Veteran, your decision to join a study, or not, will in no way affect your VA benefits or health care. In fact, you may learn more about your own health and potentially get early access to a new vaccine or treatment.

Benefits of volunteering

Another benefit of volunteering is to make sure COVID-19 vaccines and treatments are safe and effective for everyone. It is important to have a true cross-section of America represented in research studies — one that includes people from Black, Hispanic and Native American communities.

Sadly, people from minority groups are two to three times more likely to become ill with COVID-19. The only way we can change this is to include a more diverse group of people in research studies. Doing so will help VA scientists better protect all Veterans and their families.

Let’s each do our part to defeat COVID-19. By volunteering, you will help us keep our promise to Veterans and their loved ones: to protect, defend and preserve their health and well-being.

Anyone over the age of 18 can volunteer to participate in VA research by signing up for the coronavirus research volunteer list. If you are eligible to participate in a study, you will be contacted by a study coordinator. The coordiCPOnator will answer your questions and help you decide if you wish to participate.

Amazon plans to add fulfillment and distribution center positions to keep up with demand during the coronavirus outbreak.

We actively seek leaders who can invent, think big, have a bias for action and deliver results on behalf of our customers. These principles look very familiar to men and women who have served our country in the armed forces, and we find that their experience leading people is invaluable in our fast-paced work environment.

Webinars Made Easy with ClickMeeting

For many companies, institutions, and schools, the current pandemic means having to adjust their processes and go 100% remote – and do it as quickly as possible. So for those of you who are now facing this challenge, here’s a roundup of the essential resources that will help you go online with ClickMeeting in the next couple of days.

We have noticed a surge in new ClickMeeting signups lately – and we’re not surprised. The world keeps spinning and for a lot of you, going remote is the only option to keep working, running your classes, and – let’s face it – earning your income.

Judging by the tons of questions our Customer Success Team gets every hour, for a lot of you, it’s been a challenge. So let us make this a little easier – with the following list, you’ll be able to start using ClickMeeting quickly and efficiently, no matter if you want to teach your students online, collaborate with your team remotely, or sell your products and services.

How to get started

This might seem like the hardest thing to do – but believe me, it’s not. Here are a few essentials that will get you going in no time:

  • Getting Started guide – download it to find out how to set up your webinar room and how to deliver your presentation.
  • Getting Started video – if you prefer to watch a video, here’s a two-minute one that’ll show you how to schedule your first online event.

If you have questions about specific features – like inviting attendees, sending reminder emails, recording your webinar or protecting it with a PIN code – take a look at our video tutorials. Chances are the answer’s there.

Webinar or online meeting?

Depending on your needs and goals, you can choose one of the three ways to connect with your audience online:

  • Listen-only, where your attendees can listen to you, but can’t ask questions
  • Presenters only, where presenters can talk to each other without being heard by the participants
  • Discussion, where up to 25 attendees can speak to each other – this will turn your webinar into a proper online meeting, where people can collaborate, ask questions, and exchange ideas.

The Most Affordable Meetings On The Market

Watch this video for a quick explanation of how to set up your webinar mode to suit your needs.

When you create a new event, it’s a webinar by default. To turn it into an interactive online meeting for up to 25 attendees, you can do two things:

  • Enter your webinar room and change the audio mode to the Discussion mode. To return to the webinar format, switch from the Discussion mode to Listen-only mode.
  • Or: choose the online meeting format while scheduling your event. Go to the “Automation” tab and scroll down to the bottom of the page. In the “Room” section type select “Meeting”. You’re ready to go.

Note: If you host a meeting for a small group and need more than 4 video streams, you can buy up to 3 extras.
