BNSF Railway Proudly Hires Military Veterans

The railroads’ long history of hiring veterans dates back to the Civil War, and that connection continues today because together we are a good fit.

Consider the many parallels between veterans and railroaders. For example, as a veteran, you may prefer a structured work environment with clear rules. You may appreciate the challenge of working all hours in all conditions. You’re used to and like physical labor, plus you are an experienced traveler accustomed to relocating from one assignment to the next. Additionally, our work style is similar. Like you, we are mission-focused and safety-minded – and strive for excellence.

Today’s military candidates embody the core competencies essential at BNSF: leadership, teamwork and the ability to perform safely in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. If you are transitioning from military to civilian life, have prior service, are a retired veteran or a member of the National Guard and Reserves, we have challenging and rewarding career opportunities available. Our military recruiters frequently attend military career fairs and schedule base visits.Continue reading
