As America draws down combat operations over the next few years, more than 1 million active duty members of the U.S. military will return home and transition to civilian life. As they transition, many will be looking for jobs in the private sector. So will their spouses, who currently face an unemployment rate that is more than double the national average.
Starbucks values the skills and talents these men and women bring to the workplace, including their passion for service, leadership, teamwork, professionalism, integrity, creativity in the face of a challenge, and ability to interact with diverse groups of people. That’s why we have made the strategic business decision to hire thousands of veterans and military spouses over the next 5 years.

Our service members are natural leaders, due in large part to their experiences overseas. Three veterans, Alex Rolinski, Lacy Dodd Miske, and Franklin Robinson are veterans who have applied those skills here at home.
