Respite care is temporary, short-term care provided to a Veteran so that an informal or family caregiver can be relieved from the day-to-day stress and strain of caring for a loved one. Caregivers of Veterans who are on demand 24/7 truly need time away and return to their caregiving tasks refreshed and rejuvenated.
